Margaret was preceded in death by her five siblings and parents. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews throughout the country. and Alyssa Sandoval Ellette and Noelle Astrauskas Mika Lightsmith August and Xochitl Stell and Asher Henson. Great-grandchildren include Zane and Lily Hawthorne Jacob, Joshua & Samantha Ojinaga Daniel Jr. Surviving grandchildren are Valerie Hawthorne, David Stone, Michelle Astrauskas, Robert Lighthall, Denise Ojinaga, Heather Sandoval, Aaron Henson, Jeremy Lightsmith, Nathan Stell. She also leaves behind her brother, Armando Marquez and her loving sister, Maria Atwood, both of El Paso Texas. She left behind a legacy of love that includes her surviving children: Michael (Diana) LaFrance of El Paso, Texas Fred Stell-Smith of El Paso, Texas Margaret LaFrance (Greg) Stone of Comfort, Texas Nanette LaFrance (Jim) of Denver, Colorado Mary LaFrance (Allen) Henson of Kerrville, Texas, and Godchild, Bernadette (Mike) Demboski of Abilene, Texas. She just made everyone’s life better by being in it and would brighten any room with her radiant smile. She met life’s obstacles with the strength of a warrior and the grace of an angel. She had a kind heart and took care of all family, friends and animals who entered her life with such love, grace and mercy. Margaret lived life to the fullest and with her spunky attitude, she filled so many people’s lives with laughter and joy. From 2016 until she gained her wings, she lived both in Kerrville, Texas and in Denver, Colorado with her daughters. Margaret married Eliseo Gutierrez in 2004, she loved and cared for him until his death in 2016. She continued running their business, Bob’s Small Engine Repair, until she retired in 2007. Adoption agency advertising at airports, foreign couples carrying racially different babies on the streets of Hanoi or Mexico City. ![]() She lived 84 years in El Paso, raised a wonderful family with the love of her life, Robert J LaFrance, for 41 years, until his death in 1993. Having travelled and worked in numerous developing countries including Papua New Guinea, Afghanistan, Romania and Russia, the signs of growth in international adoptions has become more and more apparent. Margaret LaFrance Gutierrez, 89, went into the loving arms of our Lord in Heaven on Friday, October 1, 2021, while in Denver Colorado. ![]()
